WELCOME TO SOUTHERN CHESTER COUNTY BASKETBALL!

The mission of Southern Chester County Basketball is to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment devoted to promoting educational, recreational and competitive basketball for athletes in 3rd through 8th grade. We seek to develop each player to the best of their ability and promote a spirit of sportsmanship and community with players, coaches, and parents/guardians.

Think Rec 2.0!  This league is for players who want a more competitive environment, but do not want the committment of a travel team. In this league, each coach organizes their own team.  There are NO evaluations and NO draft.  There is a minimum of 8 players required per team.  For COACHES ONLY - please click on the button below to submit your team.  Players will register once the Coach submits their name on a team. Basketball Coaches volunteer their personal time to make this program a huge success. The number of players Southern Chester County Basketball can accept is directly related to the number of coaches who volunteer.

Paul Day of Chester County Storm basketball is supporting and guiding this basketball program!  Paul is the Co-Director and Head Coach of the Girls' Program at Chester County Storm.  Paul has been involved with basketball as a player, referee, coach, and director for 26 years.  You can learn more about Paul and his Club at Chester County Storm Basketball!

Program Structure

The league is organized at the team level.  Coaches register and submit their teams.  Individual players will register after their coach submits their name as a member of their team.

The Season: Practices and Games

The season will start in December and run through February. There will be one to two practice a week and games will be on Saturdays.  Coach Paul Day will be doing several skills events throughout the season.  All practices and games held in local gyms.

Equipment

Safety is of utmost importance to our organization and each player will need to provide his or her own equipment. It is up to parents/guardians to ensure their player is using equipment that meets current safety standards.  A basketball is all that is required. Sneakers can be worn to practices and games, though basketball shoes are recommended.  Basketball jerseys are included with registration.

Coaching

All Southern Chester County Basketball coaches volunteer their personal time to make this program a huge success and we are always looking for volunteers.  The number of players Southern Chester County Basketball can accept is directly related to the number of coaches who volunteer.  Coaching Southern Chester County Basketball is a great way to support families and youth in our community. Coaches teach more than sport specific skills - they help our young athletes develop important life skills.  As a coach, you can have a positive influence on parents and players, as well as be an excellent example of community support and pride.
