Southern Chester County Volleyball

WELCOME TO SOUTHERN CHESTER COUNTY VOLLEYBALL!
The mission of Southern Chester County Volleyball is to provide a fun, safe, and positive environment devoted to promoting an educational, recreational, and competitive volleyball experience. We seek to develop each player to the best of their ability and promote a spirit of sportsmanship and community with players, coaches, and parents/guardians. This is one of the few recreational volleyball programs in the area. This program is designed to be an “in-house” developmental league for all skill levels, and we hope to incorporate some in-house scrimmages to gain game experience!
For the first session, we welcome Alexis Arnold back for another great season. Coach Alexis is excited to return for her 3rd season of running the SCC Volleyball program for players in grades 4th-6th!
For the second session, we welcome Sarah Lazor back for another great season. Coach Sarah is excited to return for her 3rd season of running the SCC Volleyball program for players in grades 6th-8th! Sarah is a high school and club coach and loves working with middle school players.

Program Structure
The co-ed league will structure teams based on level of play starting with introducing the game of volleyball and building a foundation of skills in a fun and positive environment. Focus will be on basic to advanced volleyball skills. A variety of games will be used to introduce players to rules, teamwork, and competition. Depending on the number of players registered, players may be separated by one or more of the following: age, grade, size and experience.
Important - There are TWO sessions this Fall. The first session is for 4-6th graders and the second session for 6-8th graders.
The Season: Session One
The first session will run every Wednesday night from September 3 to October 29. Focus will be on skill development and improvement for all levels. This is a great way to continue to build upon skills learned in past season or on your school team as well as help prepare players interested in playing club this winter.
Session One Practices:
WHEN: Wednesday Nights 6:00-8:00pm
WHEN: September 3 -October 29
WHERE: Kennett Middle School
The Season: Session Two
The first session will run every Tuesday night from October 28 to December 23. Focus will be on skill development and improvement for all levels.
Session Two Practices:
WHEN: Tuesday Nights 6:30-8:30pm
WHEN: October 28 - December 23

Equipment
Safety is of utmost importance to our organization and each player will need to provide his or her own equipment. It is up to parents/guardians to ensure their player is using equipment that meets current safety standards. We do strongly recommend volleyball shoes and knee pads for safety.
Coaching
All Southern Chester County Volleyball coaches volunteer their personal time to make this program a huge success and we are always looking for volunteers. The number of players Southern Chester County Volleyball can accept is directly related to the number of coaches who volunteer. In order to ensure a positive experience for players, there will be limits set for each age group based on the number of coaches who volunteer.
Coaching Southern Chester County Volleyball is a great way to support families and youth in our community. Coaches teach more than sport specific skills - they help our young athletes develop important life skills. As a coach, you can have a positive influence on parents and players, as well as be an excellent example of community support and pride.
